Emerging Leaders

Northern Virginia Association for the Education of Young Children offers an Emerging Leaders Initiative!

This initiative provides opportunities for participants to:

  • Explore personal leadership goals, identify opportunities for growth and create a personalized leadership and professional development plan;

  • Gain the knowledge and build leadership skills needed to achieve their goals;

  • Expand professional networks;

  • Experience leadership opportunities in NVAEYC.

Emerging leaders will:

  • Meet with mentors at least three times a year for information sharing and coaching

  • Receive a free one year membership to NAEYC

Meet our Emerging Leaders

Katie Glick

Katie earned her BA is Psychology from George Mason University. She then went on to earn a MEd with a concentration in Severe Disabilities. After she graduated she began a career as a special education teacher. In the time since Katie has worked in the classroom and in administration in several different settings. Her passion for working with young children and their families and her love of learning led her to her current position as Preschool Director at Burke United Methodist Preschool. Katie and her husband Dave are blessed with their children Casey (10), Sasha (6), and Zac (4).

Dianne Rose

Dianne is a Head Teacher for Hunters Woods Cooperative Preschool in Reston. She holds a Masters in Education with a concentration in curriculum and instruction for early childhood education. Her long-term goals include research and writing about play-based education and arts integration in preschool.
